Description of this holiday home in Andalusia
El Cortijo de Pedro is a cosy house on the outskirts of the village of Nijar with a magnificent garden with palm, fig, fruit and olive trees and flowering shrubs. There are many terraces around the house for each moment in the day. The terrace by the kitchen has a dining section; a lovely spot to have your meal in the shade of the grapevines. At the larger terrace closest to the house, you can actually choose for sun or shade. On this terrace is a kiddie pool; ideal for children. From the front terrace you can see the sunrise. Further down the garden, steps are leading to a water basin (8x8x2 m) that can be used as a swimming pool from the beginning of June until the beginning of October. Children need to be accompanied here. And then there are the roof terraces to enjoy the dusk or the stars in the night sky. From all these places you’ll have beautiful views on the valley and of the mountains. The old cortijo has been renovated with great care and eye for detail. The interior is homely and friendly. The living room has a generous lounge and dining section with a wood burner as well as en open fireplace. A couple of steps give access to a well equipped kitchen and study with adjacent bedroom and bathroom. This dark and cool bedroom is ideal for the hottest days of the year. On the upper floor are another 2 bedrooms and a 2nd bathroom. From here you’ll also have access to the roof terraces. The availibility of free fiber WIFI makes this house complete.
Surroundings of holiday home El Cortijo de Pedro
El Cortijo de Pedro is only a 5 minute walk from the centre of Nijar, a lovely village with shops, a few restaurants and bars. From Nijar a mule path takes you past several ancient Moorish watermills to the small hamlet of Huebro. The beaches, Cabo de Gata nature park and the city of Almeria are at a 30 minute drive from Nijar. The last hundred meters to the house are on a narrow road through part of the village. It’s possible to park the car close to the house, but at the entrance of the village you’ll find a larger parking facility.

Ground floor: living room with lounge and dining section, two steps lead to the kitchen with a small breakfast table, a study with table and a bedroom with a double bed. On the ground floor is also a bathroom with tub, toilet and washbasin.
First floor: two bedrooms: one with a double bed and adjacent terrace and the other with 2 single beds, a bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin, access to the second roof terrace.
Remarks
The nearest airport is Almeria (LEI), this is a fairly small airport. Alicante airport (ALC) is 3 hours away, this also applies to Malaga (AGP).
