Description of Casa Almohade
Casa Almohade is "named after" the tower-minaret of the church of Salares, built in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries of red brick and designated a National Historic and Artistic Monument in 1979. The tower is considered one of the finest examples of Almohade art in Spain.
Casa Almohader is a completely new house built on the footprint of the original house, so it looks like a authentic Spanish village house. Inside, however, it's a different story. The house is easy to find and you can park in the quiet street, centrally in the village.
Immediate surroundings of Casa Almohade
Salares is on the edge of the 'Sierra Tejeda-Almijara' Natural Park, so the area offers excellent hiking opportunities, especially in the colder months and spring. Do not hesitate, Casa Almohade is the ideal place to escape and forget the noise, hustle and bustle of everyday life. Salares is one of the quietest and most authentic villages of the region, from where you can visit many places to enjoy the gastronomy and traditions. This is a perfect location for exploring the mountain villages, historic towns and the coast. You can take day trips to many surrounding villages (Sedella, Canillas de Aceituno, Archez, Canillas de Albaida, Competa, Torrox...), as well as Nerja, Torre del Mar, Málaga, Ronda, Antequera and many other fascinating towns.
Layout of the holiday home in Salares
You enter the house into the elegant 70m2 open plan living/dining room with an antique wood burning stove, 42" TV, DVD player. Note the panoramic window that not only gives you a view of the patio, but also lets in a lot of light. On this floor you will also find a guest toilet and the very complete kitchen with electric stove, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, juicer, and so on.
From the living room the stairs take you to the two double rooms on the 1st floor. The first bedroom has a comfortable double bed. The color scheme is a fresh green reminiscent of early Andalusian spring. This bedroom and the ensuite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet both have French balconies. The second large bedroom has a private terrace with sun loungers, overlooking the village. In addition to the double bed, this room also has a sofa bed with 2 single mattresses that can be converted into a double bed (not suitable for adults). The spacious en-suite bathroom of this bedroom has a shower, sink and toilet. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and ceiling fans.
From the living room there is direct access to the large terrace (50 sqm), which offers ample space for sunbathing or dining al fresco, the patio has a large built-in barbecue. The patio has direct access to the street. On the patio you will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board are also at your disposal. The icing on the cake; the lovely outdoor jacuzzi is separated by sliding doors, for privacy or to keep it nice and warm. The jacuzzi is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Relax!
Remarks
- Nearest airport is Malaga (AGP) at an hour and fifteen minutes drive.
- Rent is excluding use of jacuzzi. Costs associated with use are € 100 per week. (Avaialble form May 1st until November 1st.)
- Please bring your own beach towels.
- House is equipped for 4 adults. In 1 of the bedroom there is a sofa bed for 2 children.
